My Story

It started simply. I wanted hair care I could actually trust. Something clean, effective, and made with ingredients I felt good about using on myself and my family.

During a season where my youngest son was struggling with ongoing health issues, I became much more intentional about what we were bringing into our home and putting on our bodies. I started researching ingredients more carefully and paying closer attention to the products we used every day. What began as a personal journey slowly turned into a passion for creating something better.

As I experimented with different ingredients, marshmallow root completely stood out to me. I was fascinated by the silky mucilage it creates naturally and the softness it brought to hair without relying on harsh or unnecessary ingredients. I began creating formulas for myself and my family first, never expecting it to become anything more.

But people started asking what I was using on my hair. Friends and family wanted to try it for themselves, and the more I shared the process, the more passionate I became about creating hair care that felt both beautiful and intentional.

Velvet Root grew from that place. A belief that simpler can truly be better, that transparency matters, and that what you put on your body deserves the same care and thoughtfulness as what you put in it.
